Alaska PrideFest

Alaska PrideFest will run from May 30th- June 6th with the Parade and Festival on June 6th. The Parade will be at 11am and the Festival from 12-5pm on the Delaney Parkstrip between E and I. We will be celebrating 38 years of Pride in 2015. While PrideFest started with a few people sharing a picnic lunch on the Parkstrip it has grown to an event that attracts thousands of people. The sponsoring organization, Identity, Inc., opened as the Alaska Gay Community Center, Inc. on I Street in 1977. Over the years the name has changed to the Alaska Gay and Lesbian Resource Center, and Identity: The Center for Sexual Minorities. Today Identity proudly displays the rainbow flag on 5th Ave. and advances Alaska’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community through advocacy, education and connectivity.
